Queens Church of England Academy are aiming even higher........

(Message below from Hannah Carvell, Headteacher).

"We have been celebrating Enterprise Week welcoming a host of professionals and trades people into our school to help raise the aspirations of pupils. Visitors included: Actors, Professional Sports People, Civil Engineers, Hairdressers and Aviation Crew.

Classes were provided with a small amount of money and asked to test their entrepreneurial skills in starting small businesses, selling their goods and making a profit at the end of the week.

Central News couldn't resists coming to film our aeroplane made up of pupils and staff at the school.

During the broadcast we launched our fundraising scheme for a much needed mini bus."

Last week in Year 2 at St Oswald's Church of England Academy, children took part in a range of maths challenges! On Thursday, they had to use all their maths knowledge to solve the Mystery of the Muddled up Fidget Spinners and on Friday they were given a set of Lego Create cards and had to use the numbers to solve lots of different place value, addition and subtraction challenges. The children worked really well in their groups, and supported each other to solve the problems and produced some excellent work - they also had lots of fun whilst they were learning.
