Leamington Hastings Church of England Academy

We are supporting Children in Need this year by asking children (and staff) to wear spots, stripes or a mixture of both in exchange for a minimum donation of £1.

We are also looking for a new home for Pudsey’s friend. He will be hiding in school, looking out for you (that’s a clue), so please have a go at guessing his name and the winner gets to give him a new home. £1 a go and all money raised go to Children in Need.

Year 6 Learning Workshop - Message from the Headteacher
Michelle Cuskelly.

This morning we were joined by many parents who supported the Year 6 children with their Greek activities such as: creating laurel wreaths, decorating urns & making Greek sandals. The children had a great time as well as the parents. We will be repeating this for our other year groups throughout the year.

Harris Church of England Academy

Harris Church of England Academy are Champions for second year in succession

Harris CofE Academy retains the title of Rugby inter-school debate champions for a second year.

On Thursday 12 th October four students took part in the annual Rugby Inter-School Debate Competition. This year was the fourth year of the competition which takes place in the council chambers of Rugby Town Hall.

The competition was judged by a team of local dignitaries including the Mayor and MP Mark Pawsey. It consisted of three rounds of debating which ended with a heated final debate about the legalisation of drugs. Students were also given the opportunity to visit the Mayor’s parlour and they received a certificate which contained the Mayor’s official stamp.

The Harris team were highly praised for their confident delivery, their clear and well-researched opening statements, their excellent debating etiquette and their efforts as a team. They scored highly in each round which enabled them to go into the final round of debating against Lawrence Sheriff School.

Harris took home the trophy. It was a well-deserved win and a fantastic afternoon was had by all.

Well done to Dylan T (yr11), Kiran S (yr9), Daniel P (yr9) and Tilly S (yr7)
