Cross of Nails Centenary Pilgrimage

April Gold the DBE Deputy Diocesan Director Of Education formally handed over the cross to students and Staff at Harris Church of England Academy on Wednesday 10th January 2018, in the Cathedral ruins in Coventry to start it on its way. 

The journey of the cross continues next week after a rest for half term...

St Laurence's CofE Primary Celebration

On Sunday 11th February Canon Linda Wainscot the DBE Director of Education and her Deputy April Gold took part in a wonderful Service of Welcome and Commisioning at St Laurence's Church for Michelle Cuskelly the new Headteacher who started at the academy in January. Several members of Michelle's family attended the service. Church Wardens presented Michelle with a bouquet of flowers and a basket of fruit to symbolise beauty and fruitfullness and prayed for Michelle's leadership to grow and flourish. Mrs Paxton, Assistant Headteacher, led the prayers after the commissioning, with Rev'd Gareth for all staff, children and church members. The morning culminated with coffee and cake with an amazing cake made especially for the occasion.

Leigh CofE Academy Opening Ceremony

Bishop Christopher and Linda Wainscot took part in a very moving service of celebration on Tuesday 6th February marking the opening and dedication of Leigh CofE Academy.  The pupil worship team led the service with children from Year 2 to Year 6 reading out the prayers they had written for the occasion.  Mr Dave Wallis, Chair of Governors, read from the Bible and the singing of worship songs was truly inspirational.

Salford Priors CofE Academy Opening Ceremony

Salford Priors celebrated its opening with a service of blessing on Monday 12th February in which Bishop Christopher and Canon Linda Wainscot took part . This was followed by a lunch with the students and many visitors including David Morris our CEO and several members of the Central MAT team and MAT Board who were then also treated to a tour of the academy.
