Growing Together: Leamington Hastings CofE Infant Academy and the Hamlet of Hill Celebrate a Flourishing Community Partnership
Residents of Hill in Warwickshire recently joined forces with staff from Leamington Hastings CofE Infant Academy and the Diocese of Coventry Multi Academy Trust to plant hedging that will provide long-term environmental, educational, and visual benefits to the local area for years to come.
This developing partnership reflects the dedication of both the school and local residents to build a strong, connected community culture. Together, they are supporting meaningful improvements to the school grounds, enhancing outdoor spaces for the benefit of pupils while also improving the environment for the wider area.
This collaboration does not end there. Both parties have committed to ongoing, seasonal planting, ensuring that the school grounds continue to develop and thrive over time. Residents of Hill have also generously supported the preparation of the land for planting, offering time, expertise, and practical help to make the project possible.

Mrs Marson, Headteacher of Leamington Hastings CofE Infant Academy and Dunchurch Boughton CofE Infant Academy said, “The residents of Hill, successfully accessed external funding to support new planting on the school site. A particular highlight of our partnership was the engagement with pupils on World Earth Day, when residents worked alongside children to plant seeds. This hands-on experience brought learning to life, helping children understand environmental stewardship, teamwork, and the value of caring for their surroundings.”
Deb Bacon, Head of Operations and Compliance for the Diocese of Coventry Multi Academy Trust, who runs the school was instrumental in the community partnership and said, “This initiative truly embodies the vision of our trust of ‘together, pursuing life in all its fullness’. It beautifully demonstrates how collaboration, care for creation, and community action can nurture both people and place.”
Everyone at Leamington Hastings CofE Infant Academy extend their sincere thanks to the residents of the Hamlet of Hill for their enthusiasm, commitment, and generosity. Together, the school and community are creating a greener, more connected future for their children and their village.
